Yes, it's true, the more cork you use, the better it is for the environment.  Cork readily decomposes and the economic value of the cork keeps the forests intact with complete working ecosystems that protect animals and remove carbon from our atmosphere.  If the cork trees were not valuable they would be removed to make room for more profitable agricultural products.  So, buy some cork and keep the forests alive!
